Skylar Maxwell was born 3.5 pounds at 33 Weeks and 4 Days. For triplets this was a miracle in itself

His Identical brother Alexander James and fraternal sister Izabella Ruth were all born only one minute apart and both weighed just over 3 pounds. They were so strong and fighters from the start. But they each had their ups and down's.

Izabella was the first to be released from The NICU and was a day for celebration!  Only 2 more babies to go! One of the best days The Triplet Tribes Mom and Dad was soon to take a unexpected turn. When the phone rang at 2 am on the first night home with one of their triplets having just settled in. Pure dread. Instant gut wrenching fear. New territory of which there was no control. All they could do was try to hear and comprehend what the nurse and doctors were trying to explain to them. Confusion and more fear. Fear for the worst.

17 spells (baby stops breathing), most not self resolved, many resulting in Skylar turning grey and blue. And a couple seizures. Immediate Emergency Transport was needed to CHEO NICU. In the middle of February in the middle of the night. In a winter storm.. Not what you want for your premature baby fighting for his life. He arrived safely and with the utmost of care during transport. The Mobile Incubator was key to ensuring Skylar got the special care necessary to help save his life.

He spent over a week at CHEO NICU

and then was transported back to The Special Care Unit at The Civic reuniting with his brother. They spent over 50 days in the NICU in total.

Alexander after his release from The Civic Hospital Special Care Unit was admitted to CHEO for an Emergency surgery.  And recovered like a champion.

Skylar, his brother and sister would like to thank all the paramedics, nurses and doctors at The Civic Hospital And CHEO for their phenomenal care.

The Triplet Tribe is 22 months and are growing strong and healthy. Their family and friends are eternally grateful.

Skylar, Alexander and Izabella encourage you to give what you can to help raise money for CHEO NICU and the much needed new Mobile Incubator. The cost of a new one is over 400, 000 and is a major key component to saving babies lives like Skylar.
