Opening Ceremonies – Saturday, August 2nd @ 10:00 am, Scott Tokessy Field 

Following an enormously successful tournament last year, the 27-year milestone of honouring Scott, we can’t wait to once again welcome sponsors, players, coaches, families and friends to the ballpark. 

The tournament was established in 1996 in memory of Scott, a popular twelve-year old boy who died 
suddenly of an irregular heartbeat after hitting a home run for his house league baseball team, and is a 
lasting tribute to a young man who exhibited all the characteristics and ideals of Little League Baseball:  
sportsmanship, fair play and dedication. Run entirely by volunteers, all proceeds from the tournament 
are donated to the Cardiology Department of the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) to help 
mend little hearts. 

To date, the tournament has donated over $500,000 for CHEO. We are proud of the role the 
tournament plays in raising funds to help CHEO invest in much needed technology to assist in diagnosing heart conditions in children more quickly and accurately than ever before. 

Did you know that the Cardiology Clinic at CHEO is one of only two programs in all of Ontario that 
includes a Pediatric Cardiovascular Surgical Program? Through this program, operations on tiny hearts 
the size of a small peanut are common.
