Hey everyone! The Haunting of Melville Manor is a new initiative (started in 2023!!) that seeks to raise money for the CHEO Foundation. Our big family of seven has always enjoyed decorating for Halloween, and starting in 2023, we decided that we wanted to turn our passion for Halloween into something that will not only bring smiles to faces across our community, but also give back to sick kids across Eastern Ontario, and raise awareness for paediatric stroke victims - something that has deeply affected our family this past year.
Our lights will be on from 8:00pm to 11:00pm from October 15th to October 31st 2024
Our fundraising goal for Halloween 2024 is $500 and we'd very much appreciate any donations (big or small) that will help us reach this goal.
Our Halloween display includes a 12-foot Giant Skeleton, a 12-foot Inferno Pumpkin Skeleton, a 13-foot (singing!) Jack Skellington, a 12 foot reaper, a 12.5 foot deadwood inferno skeleteon, a giant spider, a floating person, some awesome inflatables, and almost a dozen interactive animatronics. Our display is illuminated by blue spotlights and some spine-tingling ghost projections in the windows. We also have a realistic creepy graveyard, terrifying scare actors :), a spooky, candlelit pathway up to the front entrance (with a fog machine!!), music playing on multiple speakers throughout, and lots of candy for Trick-Or-Treaters! This year, our display has grown even bigger! We're still keeping our new animatronics a secret...but they will be revealed soon enough...
We have also started reaching out to local businesses in hopes that we can get the whole community involved in our initiative. Our display will be completed in October, and will be illuminated almost every night until Halloween! We hope that you'll be able to drop by and see what we have planned...We think that it's pretty cool!
