Drive for Little Lives presented by Ken White Construction

Drive for Little Lives presented by Ken White Construction is a fundraising golf tournament in Ottawa, Ontario. All proceeds made this year will be donated to the CHEO Cardiology Unit. Ken White Construction is choosing to support the CHEO Cardiology Unit this year, as the life of our head estimator's daughter, Lenna Godbold, was ultimately saved by the team at CHEO. 

A note from Heather and Kyle Godbold...

"When we were 12 weeks pregnant with Lenna, they found an abdominal wall defect called an Omphalocele, and her bloodwork came back as 'high risk'. From that point on, CHEO stepped in and started doing in depth genetic tests, fetal MRI’s, and fetal echo’s so that we were all prepared. At our 18-week fetal echo, the CHEO cardiologist found Lenna had a congenital heart defect called Tetralogy of Fallot with Pulmonary atresia (meaning she had no pulmonary artery to provide blood flow to her lungs once she was born). We worked closely with CHEO until her scheduled birth.

Lenna spent her first 2 months at CHEO, and the simplest way to put it is that she would not be here with us if it was not for CHEO. The hospital became our home for most of the summer.

In a way, CHEO is like a second home for us. It holds memories ranging from our worst moments to some of our best, and it will always be a place where miracles can happen. We will forever be indebted to CHEO for what they’ve given us, but anyway we can help raise awareness for congenital heart defects and help other families like us means the world. Most people don’t get to meet their hero, but we’re the lucky ones who get to raise ours".
