Ever since I was a teenager, shaving my head for cancer was always something I wanted to do. It wasn't until I was an adult that I realized how close to home this cause really was. Family, friends, and coworkers started getting diagnosed with all different types of cancer - it's difficult to understand until it touches your life personally, but it's far more common than you may think. I want to do whatever I can to help, one dollar at a time, one strand of hair at a time!
Together, we can raise funds for child and adult cancer research, and on Sunday, April 15th, 2017, I will shave my head to donate my hair to making free wigs for financially challenged children in the Ottawa region who are experiencing hair loss for all kinds of medical reasons. All hair that can't be used to make wigs is sent off to be made into hair booms for oil spills on the world’s beaches, lakes, and oceans.
I chose the goal of $888 because not only does it represent good fortune and prosperity, but also positive energy, empowerment, and infinite love and faith. Let's make a difference together! Every little bit helps!
