I have a personal connection to childhood cancer. My son, Cole, was diagnosed with stage 4 Neuroblastoma at age 5. They found a 12 cm tumour in his abdomen which had also grown up a vein into his heart, filling it to the point that it was ready to stop. It had also spread to his lungs and liver. Against the odds and with help from the caring team at CHEO, Cole is with us today. Now 16 and going into grade 11, he's a daily reminder of how important it is to have a facility like CHEO in our community to take care of our kids.
When Randy and I started this in 2018, we had a feeling that it was going to be something special...and sure enough that first year end up raising over $24,000 for oncology support at CHEO. 2019 was incredible, doubling the number of people involved and over doubling our total raised to over $53,000!! This year, we think we can do more...because cancer doesn't stop event though there is a pandemic. But we need you to get involved, to donate...or BOTH! So register for yourself, start a team, or simply donate...because KIDS CAN'T FIGHT CANCER ALONE!
Cole at age 5 at CHEO, finding happiness wherever he could. :-)
