What is the 2023 Construction Community Cares Drive-by?

The National Capital Heavy Construction Association (NCHCA) and the Ottawa Construction Association (OCA) have partnered once again for the Third Annual Construction Community Cares Drive By 2023, on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. We look forward to bringing smiles to the faces of children and their families at CHEO and Roger Neilson House.

We are calling on our members to support this event by featuring their equipment in the drive-by and making a donation in support of palliative care at CHEO and Roger Neilson House.

A staging area and drive by route have been planned to make it easy for equipment to drive through the grounds and for families to watch from the windows of the hospital, Rotel, Ronald McDonald House and Roger Neilson House, and from the sidewalks along Ring Road.

Click here to register your equipment and be in the drive by.

We encourage you, your colleagues, and your company to make a donation on the CCC fundraising page if you can and help us show that the Construction Community Cares! Our goal this year is to raise over $50,000 for the cause.

Compelling stories:

Many NCHCA and OCA members will know the history of building Roger Neilson House as there was a tremendous charitable commitment of labour, materials and money from around a hundred local construction firms. The effort was led by Roly Hein, CEO of RE Hein Construction who charmed and cajoled firms to help out to the tune of $2 million dollars. Roly unfortunately passed away too young, at age 67, in 2013.
