What is the 2024 Construction Community Cares Parade?
The National Capital Heavy Construction Association and the Ottawa Construction Association have partnered for the Fourth Annual Construction Community Cares Parade, on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. We look forward to bringing smiles to the faces of children and their families at CHEO, Roger Neilson Children’s Hospice, Rotel and Ronald McDonald House.
We are asking the construction community to support this event by featuring their equipment in the parade and making a donation in support of palliative care at CHEO and Roger Neilson Children’s Hospice.
A staging area and route have been planned to drive through the grounds and for families to watch from the sidewalks along Ring Road and from the windows of the hospital, Rotel, Ronald McDonald House and Roger Neilson Children’s Hospice.
Click here to register your equipment and be in the parade.
We encourage you, your colleagues, and your company to make a donation on the CCC fundraising page to show that the Construction Community Cares! Our goal this year is to raise over $50,000 for the cause.
Compelling stories:
Many NCHCA and OCA members will know the history of building Roger Neilson Children’s Hospice as there was a tremendous charitable commitment of labour, materials and money from over a hundred local construction firms. The effort was led by Roly Hein, CEO of RE Hein Construction who charmed and cajoled firms to help out to the tune of $2 million. Roly unfortunately passed away too young, at age 67, in 2013.
